Overview:

The Resident Care Assistant participates in the direct and indirect care to residents, families, and significant others at the Hospice location. They will operate under the direction of the Resident Care Team Leader.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is accountable for the documentation of care provided and status of residents.
  • Is accountable for the resident’s personal care and hygiene, activities, ambulation, safety, nutrition, and hydration.
  • Maintain clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Assist in preparing meals and snacks.
  • Working with volunteers
  • Coordinates and maintain clean and safe environment for residents, oversees meal and snack preparedness.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance projects.
  • Based in experience may be asked to assist as ‘on-call’ staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Resident Care Team Leader or Director of Omega House.

 

Education, Licensure/Certification:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Nurse Aide program with certification preferred.
  • BLS certification required.

 

Experience, Skills/Abilities Related Requirements:

  • Can work to prescribe nursing standards including the physical demands of standing, walking, and moving most of the time without lifting restrictions.
  • 1 Year experience specific to Persons with AIDS or Hospice

 

Continuing Education and Training Requirements:

  • Participates in trainings required by the agency, funding source(s), and/or as required by licensure if applicable.
