Benefits of being a Personal
Care Assistant
The role of this Personal Care
Assistant
Our personal care assistants
join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support
in their home. You will be employed by
HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them
only. This role is for 10hours per week
which can be organised flexibly with the family. It is anticipated that you will work for half
a day on a weekend and on a weekday evening, however there is the option to
'save hours' to enable our client to have a day trip out. There may also be the
opportunity to cover some overnight respite.
About the Client and Duties
Our client is a gentleman in
his 30's who has autism and limited understanding. He loves to be with adults,
talking and sharing information. He enjoys being outdoors and out and
about and his hobbies include walking, swimming, visiting coffee shops and
going out for meals. He sometimes likes watching Disney films, National History
documentaries and listening to the news. Our client is also a good talker with
fantastic social skills.
The ideal support worker for
our client will help to keep him grounded by creating a stress-free
environment, by displaying patience in response to his repetitive questions and
who will keep him safe. You will help with personal care, medication and patches,
cooking and domestic tasks around the home (our client likes things to be clean
and tidy).
You will need to drive for
this role as you will accompany/support our client to enjoy his interests out
and about in the community.
