2x RGNs required to work nights, 24.5 hours each. Pay = £21.50 p/hour.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and/or the implementation and evaluation of care plans.
All relevant forms of care are expected to be carried out without direct supervision.
DETAILS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The day-to-day management and co-ordination of care within the Home.
1.1 To give and receive reports on clients.
1.2 To assist in maintaining equipment and stocks as appropriate.
1.3 To ensure that the home’s policy on storage, checking and administering medicines is strictly adhered to.
1.4 To ensure the continuity of client care, by assessing care needs and the development and/or implementation of these programmes of care.
1.5 To be conversant with all Policies and Procedures as laid down by the Company.
1.6 To participate in staff meetings as required.
1.7 To attend courses and in-service training as and when it is offered.
1.8 To ensure the safe keeping of clients’ clothing and property.
1.9 To maintain confidentiality of clients in all respects.
1.10 To wear uniform in full whilst on duty ensuring it is clean and tidy.
1.11 To adhere to the policy of not accepting gifts from clients without the permission of the Manager.
1.12 To adhere to the home’s no smoking policy.
CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
2 To contribute to the learning environment of the Home, directing junior staff, and maintaining with them a happy healthy working relationship which is conducive to a professional atmosphere.
2.1 To carry out clinical procedures as laid down in the procedures/policies folder without direct supervision.
2.2 To demonstrate procedures and supervise junior qualified and unqualified staff.
2.3 To report the condition of the clients to the Manager. To report all and any accidents to staff or clients, or untoward occurrences or complaints.
2.4 To safeguard the clients’ property.
STAFF AND PERSONNEL:
3 To promote, support and counsel staff as necessary.
3.1 To carry out staff supervisions.
3.2 To introduce new staff to their duties and the routine of the Home and teach all staff as appropriate.
3.3 To ensure that staff are aware of the Health & Safety at Work Act and Fire Precautions.
3.4 To ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
3.5 To help promote good industrial relations with all outside disciplines.
3.6 To be aware of legal and professional responsibilities towards clients and self.
3.7 To be aware of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and the Care Quality Commission’s expected outcomes.
OTHER SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.1 To keep abreast of current trends and development in both medical and nursing practice, and to ensure that training and learning is in line with the NMC’s Revalidation Requirements.
4.2 To attend training courses as and when offered.
