Job Summary
Our Daughter is a high-functioning autistic 21-year-old who would benefit from support in several areas of daily life. In particular, she needs help becoming more confident with travelling, managing her personal finances, and searching for employment.
She experiences severe social anxiety, which significantly affects her ability to work. She finds interviews especially challenging, as she often struggles to speak and express her thoughts clearly in stressful situations.
She feels most comfortable in safe, familiar environments—typically her home, and especially her bedroom. Due to her low confidence, she would benefit from gentle encouragement and support to gradually engage in activities outside of her comfort zone.
Our daughter can find it difficult to communicate when she feels anxious and may become selectively mute. Therefore, it is important that her Personal Assistant (PA) is patient, understanding, and able to support her communication without becoming frustrated.
Ideally, her PA should be of a similar age or slightly older (around 28–30), as she feels self-conscious around people her own age or younger. While experience working with autistic individuals would be helpful, the most important qualities are patience, a calm and cheerful disposition, and confidence.
She has a range of interests, including Harry Potter, rock and indie music, and Korean culture—particularly Korean food. She is a kind, sensitive, and empathetic person.
