Are you a passionate and experienced Children's Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in a nurturing and person-centred environment?
We are hiring on behalf of a respected client whose solo children's home has been successfully running for two years. They are now seeking a dedicated professional to join their small and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

Child-Centred Support

  • Promote the safety and wellbeing of the child in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships and provide consistent, trauma-informed care.
  • Encourage life skills, independence, and emotional development.
  • Follow and contribute to Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Support in daily routines: meals, personal care, household tasks, recreational and educational activities.
  • Act as a Key Worker or Co-Key Worker, maintaining meaningful records and reports.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the wider team for consistent, high-quality care.
  • Attend team meetings, handovers, and supervisions.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational policies.

Record-Keeping & Administration

  • Maintain accurate and timely records (e.g., logs, incident reports, key working notes).
  • Contribute to statutory assessments, reviews, and financial records as required.

Safe and Nurturing Environment

  • Ensure the home is clean, welcoming, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Support community integration and healthy peer relationships.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience:
    Minimum 2 years of experience in a residential childrens home, specifically working with children with EBD (Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties).
Qualifications:
    • Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce (or willingness to work towards).
    • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undergo one).
Skills and Attributes:
    • Resilient, compassionate, and trauma-informed approach.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging behaviours.
    • Reliable, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
