Duties:
- Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing elective, urgent, and emergency surgical procedures.
- Conduct preoperative and postoperative assessments, educating patients and caregivers about procedures and expected outcomes.
- Prepare surgical rooms and ensure proper sterilization of equipment and supplies.
- Administer medications, fluids, blood products, and monitor patients using specialized medical equipment.
- Collaborate with surgical teams, intensive care units, and other departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives, ensuring compliance with national standards for safety and care.
- Document patient care activities accurately in both written and electronic formats.
- Support training programs to maintain high standards of sterilization and care procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Active RN license valid in the United States or its territories.
- Minimum of 12 months of PACU or inpatient care experience in the past three years.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Proficiency in medical terminology, pharmacology, and operation of specialized medical equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient care and collaboration.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Expertise in nursing processes, including patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols.
- Ability to respond to medical emergencies and provide advanced life support as needed.
